In the book of John, chapter 1, he writes that Jesus is the light of the world that lights up every person who comes into the world. But Jesus said that we are the light of the world.

You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bushel basket. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16)

He gives us his light to carry. He empowers us to be his representatives. What an awesome responsibility and such a challenge.  We know that when people see us they see Jesus in us.

As Christians we bring that light wherever we go. That’s what being a Christian is all about. It’s about being a mirror that reflects Jesus, or a window that his light shines through to touch the world.  We carry this light to all we come in contact with, wherever you are. At home. At school. At work. In traffic. At the grocery store. It’s so that people can see God through us, for the glory of the Father.
